Hurricane (Dorothy Hodge) performs Classic Rock and Country music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s and performs as a two to six piece outfit, depending on the venue.
She has performed in premier venues throughout New England over the past twenty years, and has opened for many national artists. One publication wrote “Hurricane produces a sound that exudes strength and purity. Her strong, pure vocals and stirring ballads reach into the hearts of her audiences".
She has received several awards as a songwriter and performer:
1991-Winner of the WHIM True Value National Country Showdown (soloist).
1992-Winner of the WHIM True Value National Country Showdown (Band).
1994, her CD, Hurricane-The Calm at the Eye of the Storm, won five Achievement awards in the National Billboard Magazine Songwriters’ contest.
More recently, Hurricane has played at the following venues: Blue Anchor, Badgers, Uncle Ronnie’s, Bittersweet Farm, Strings, Finns, Skeffs, Murphy’s Law, Sunset Cove, Somerset Open Air Market
